What the Hail (Pun Intended).

europe, florence, italy, life, travel, weather

Florence, Italy. September 2014.

So this just happened. There was a freak hail storm, right after bucket-sized droplets rained down on us and strong winds blew our umbrellas wrong side up. We ducked into school just as toy-marble-sized hail started pelting us.

Post-hail, the roads were covered in snow-looking piles which were actually piles of giant hail.

I tried going through an underpass but it was flooded ankle-deep in ice water and hail. This couple (smartly) decided to bail.

This one made it all the way through the hail swamp, though. I doth m’cap.

Abandoned umbrella.

There were fallen trees everywhere. I snapped a picture of the ones in Piazza San Marco, and of course this gal blocking my shot is taking a selfie. #priorities
