Seville, Spain / Dorne, Westeros. April 2014.
I’m not the biggest fan of Spain (just read my various rants on Spanish architecture), but I can understand why, compared to other cities in Spain that I’ve visited, Seville could be a set piece for Dorne. I guess it could be because it has a higher concentration of moorish landmarks, buildings, etc. I guess we’ll see when season 5 airs and Dorne is introduced.
Plaza de España
This bridge looks like it could collapse under the weight of all those tourists
I liked this neat little reflection though
And this rainbow moment when the sun hit the fountain just right
These few segments are probably some of the more “Spanish” architectural elements that I’ve seen. They’re not quite as moorish as everything else, although I’m still not a hundred percent convinced.
I think this is supposed to be a ship
Suddenly, a corner of white houses
Seville cathedral (that tower looks particularly Moroccan)
And the cathedral is looking French/ gothic
From this vantage point, I see a French/gothic style cathedral and a moorish/Moroccan arch (with some other elements)–but it doesn’t immediately read ‘Spain’ to me
That Moroccan tower
More gothic vibes
I must say I’m getting some slight Celtic vibes too
This swirly, triquetra-esque design would make a cool tattoo
Hey look, this parking spot looks a bit more Spanish
